We are delighted to announce that Monsieur Louis Fabrice Latour, the 7th Louis to manage the prestige winery, will be making a brief visit to Scotland this November.
It will be an honour for us to have such an important and influential figure from the Burgundy region host this fantastic evening and match his wines to our exquisite menu created by our executive chef Scott Gilmour.
The evening will commence 7pm for 7.30pm with:
Chefs choice of canapes
Simmonet Febvre Cremant de Bourgogne Blanc Brut NV – Reception Drink
A harmoniously balanced wine with fine bubbles, a persistent foam and a wonderful length in the mouth. It is fresh and powerful on the nose with aromas of ripe yellow fruits.
Textures of beetroot & apple with a goats cheese & tarragon mousse, micro herb salad, brioche crumb & balsamic gel
Latour Montagny Grand Roche 1’er Cru 2015
A beautiful pale yellow colour with green highlights. Fruity notes of fresh apples and pears emerge. The mouth is ample and round with nice floral notes.
A taste of the sea
Butter poached Scottish lobster, chargrilled loch fyne scallop, crab beignet, samphire grass, sea water pearls & Arran mustard butter sauce
Chablis Louis Latour 2015
A pale yellow colour with green glints. The nose reveals floral and citrus notes. Well-balanced on the palate, this wine offers lemon and fresh almond aromas with a lively finish.
From the field
Slow braised shin of buccleuch beef served with a wild mushroom, baby leaf spinach & truffle cannelloni, thyme scented heritage carrots, bone marrow roasted potatoes & a rich port reduction
Latour Corton Clos de la Vigne au Saint Grand Cru 2007
This wine is concentrated and rich with a generous bouquet. It has a taste of ripe blackcurrants, and a finish which is both complex and lingering.
Trio of Scottish cheeses, arran blue, mull of Kintyre cheddar & morangerie brie served with Arran oatcakes, apple & celery jelly & bramble chutney
Chateau des Labourons Fleurie 2014
Chateau des Labourons Fleurie is elegant and complex. It is characteristically fruity and perfumed, expressing the best of the Fleurie terroir.
To finish, something sweet
Vanilla pannacotta served with a raspberry and strawberry “soup”, homemade honeycomb and finished with fresh mint
Simmonet Febvre Cremant de Bourgogne Brut Rose NV
Fresh and vivacious style. Showing powerful aromas of red fruit (raspberry, redcurrant) and showing fine bubbles and pale rose colour. Ideally for an aperitif but it will also match perfectly desserts made with red fruits and chocolate.
