The Seamill Hydro is located on the stunning Ayrshire Coast and the area has plenty of beautiful destinations for our guests to visit. Working in partnership with the hotel, we highly encourage all our guests and visitors to consider their impact on the environment and have recommended the following things to do and see in the local area, which have a minimal impact on the environment.
Where possible, we encourage our guests to travel throughout Ayrshire and visit the beautiful destinations using the various modes of public on offer in the area or go out and explore the area on foot and bicycles.

Robert Burns Birthplace Museum [Gold Award]
Located in Alloway. Discover Scotland’s National Bard, Robert Burns by visiting the museum to learn more about his colourful life, most famous works and the perfect recipe for the perfect Burns Night. The museum navigates its visitors through the infamous history of Burns’ works and the historical landmarks made famous through his writings. Culzean Castle & Country Park [Silver Award]
Located in Maybole. Culzean Castle is managed under the National Trust for Scotland and is more than just another castle on your historic tour of Scotland. The castle grounds and surrounding area are packed with lovely gardens, woodland walks, stunning beaches and adventure playground, it’s a real treat for all the family. The castle itself is stunning inside, with the beautiful Oval staircase and packed with a fine collection of paintings and there is even secret treasures for the children, including trying to find the Lego figure hidden in every room. Eglinton Country Park [Silver Award]
Located in Irvine. Eglinton Country Park is a stunning outdoor recreational area for all the family and is set over 400 hectares. The country park is situated on the historic boroughs of Kilwinning and Irvine and has stunning country and woodland walks, old castle ruins, play parks for the children and excellent recreational activities from horse riding to fishing.
